From the supplier: The Design Research Group at UCLA is a leading computer graphics-design program in the US. The program, which has become more specialized over time, brings together animators, artists, engineers, and architects. One of the main functions of the group is to bridge the gap between art and business. The lab uses a number of different machines, including IBM computers, Macintosh II systems, an Iris system, and an IBM RT, and a variety of software packages. Textile students use PlotMaster thermal-transfer plotter/printers from CalComp Inc to generate bright, clear images that can be used as patterns for silkscreening cloth. Continued emphasis on print media is the reason for the lab's success.
