Anderson has helped CoreStates Financial Corp, which owns Philadelphia National, to become one of the leading banks in percentage of non-interest income to total income. CoreStates offers its Money Access Service (MAC) electronic payment services business to all subscribing financial institutions. CoreStates did not invest in ATMs to replace bank tellers, but to increase market share and income. The customers who have MAC cards can gain access to 12,000 locations in the bank's market area.
