From the supplier: The Images in Rheumatology (IR) computer-based instructional program developed at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (Washington, DC) is designed to provide students, trainees, and attending physicians with information and clinical and X-ray images for rheumatology. Imaging technology is one of the recent advances in medical technology that has impacted diagnostic medicine. The initial IR program development was undertaken using IBM's LinkWay multimedia software. The current version of IR is based on IBM's Audio Visual Connection (AVC) software. A WORM drive is used to store the high-resolution images. Unlike the conventional medical textbook, the IR program provides interactivity, audio enhancement of information and an easy method for information review. The IR's data are being transferred to CD-ROM, which has great potential for use as an educational tool.
