From the supplier: Current studies of the US educational system reveal problematical trends. While all agree that education will play a vital role in the productivity of future generations of American workers, 40 percent funding increases over the past five years have been matched by declining rather than improving test scores and academic quality. Two organizations developing detailed recommendations for the reorganization of the system are the K-12 Transformed Schools Consortium (TSC) and the Technology-Based Engineering Education Consortium (TBEEC). While these organizations have divergent missions, they agree on some fundamental premises. Structural change is needed in American education, they say, and computer-based technology is the most cost-effective way to provide it. Both groups agree that education must be personalized, and that the utilization of technology must be accelerated.
