From the supplier: Corporations must define and integrate ethical behavior of decision making within their business structures. Upholding ethical behavior at all organizational levels is more effective than appointing ethicists as members of the boards to resolve ethical issues. The proposal by John Dobson to appoint ethicists as directors is not applicable, because it did not outline the control functions of the ethicists as required by the agency theory. Delineated control functions are necessary since ethicists represent outside ethical interests. Integrating ethical behavior into the organization and sustaining it is more plausible than Dobson's idea.
