From the supplier: Residential property managers are generally mindful of housing laws, particularly in situations involving minorities, disabled people, and families with children. However, this may not be enough to prevent the filing of discrimination lawsuits against them. Despite the passage of the Fair Housing Amendments Act, guidelines with respect to maximum occupancy by bedroom or area specifications remain unclear. There are no specific occupancy guidelines or case law resulting from the resolution of discrimination lawsuits. Since the Housing and Urban Development does not also promote occupancy standards and until case laws are established, property managers may continue to face discrimination claims.
