From the supplier: The Texarkana School District in Arkansas is integrating its full range of operations with an IBM AS/400 D35 minicomputer and the Comprehensive Information Management for Schools (CIMS III) software developed by National Computer Systems Inc. The integration was mandated by changes in state and federal laws, which made integration between individual schools and district headquarters a necessity. The first stage of the deployment involved the financial system. Using the financial module of CIMS III, transactions are entered in the district data base in real time, and reports are prepared and routed efficiently. Student software modules relating to attendance, grading and scheduling were also effectively deployed. The final stages of CIMS III involved deployment of the Employee Management System and the Fixed Asset System and Warehouse System.
