From the supplier: Security education programs continue to dwindle in institutions of higher learning, despite its importance. A survey of 59 such programs offering at least a baccalaureate degree reveals that most programs offering a security degree or emphasis were established between 1970 and 1986. Motivations for developing such programs included impetus by faculty members, market demand, the existence of similar offerings in other institutions and the influence of advisory boards. Faculty members came from diverse backgrounds.
