From the supplier: The growing globalization of business has given rise to transnational management support systems. This technology combines decision support systems, expert systems and executive information systems, and is increasingly being used to support the operational, tactical and strategic decision making process of global business enterprises. TMSS can enhance the effectiveness of international strategic and tactical management processes by assessing decisions in terms of their multinational, multifunctional or multibusiness effects, by examining the costs and benefits of a decision that aims to balance the conflicting objectives of long- and short-term planning, and by promoting the interactive and iterative flow of the 'stateless' strategic decision making process.
