From the supplier: Two cost-effective approaches to complying with the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) of 1977 are available to community banks. One is through the use of creative and enjoyable techniques in becoming involved in community projects. Some of the banks that have taken this route to CRA compliance are Chicago's Liberty Bank for Savings which raised funds for the National League of POW/MIA Families by selling coffee mugs, and Cleveland's Society Bank which donated bicycles to the Dayton Fifth District Bicycle Patrol Squad. The second approach is indirect involvement in community projects through a community development corporation (CDC). The banks provide funds for projects and the CDC manages these subsidies.
