From the supplier: Auto insurance industry firms are claiming that Progressive Corp is writing contracts that do not give independent agents their ownership rights in terms of expiration. Specifically, if an independent agent sells a client a Progressive policy, then switches the customer to another firm, Progressive has the right to directly obtain that deal. Progressive officials claim that they are only interested in bringing in revenue and deny that they are stepping into the agents' territory.
