From the supplier: The cross balance sheet relationships of Korean firms were examined and compared to similar studies in US firms. Korean firms are found to invest a larger portion of their funds in long-term assets which is mainly composed of cash due to greater liquidity needs. Unlike US firms, Korean firms' current debt and equity accounts are larger, reflecting their dependence on short-term debts for capital. The financial strategy employed by Korea is an adaptation to difficulties in their economic conditions.
