From the supplier: Holiday Inn Worldwide VP-Risk Management and Employee Benefits Anthony Rodolakis told an Arkwright Mutual-sponsored international symposium that the hospitality company once went six days without liability insurance. When Holiday Inn finally did obtain coverage, the premium cost quadrupled, the company's retention per occurrence had jumped to $4 million from $500,000 and the liability limits dropped to $25 million from $300 million. In response, the company decided to retain most high-frequency claims and introduced a state-of-the art risk management information system.
