From the supplier: Educational grants are available, but administrators must research funding sources, assemble a grant writing team and back up grant applications with relevant data. They should form a six- to eight-person committee, having some work on funding research, while others collect school data. Only one person should write the proposal and someone else must coordinate the entire project. Agencies, foundations, businesses and alumni all are funding sources, but administrators should find out what each one requires for supporting documentation and what type of projects they are likely to fund. The funding rationale should include a needs assessment, program goals, benefits and a detailed budget and timeline for funded activities. Project personnel must be identified. The proposal needs to be engaging, written like a story about the school, with little jargon and appropriate references to gender and ethnicity.
