From the supplier: A 'waisted-bell' design has been incorporated in cookstoves distributed to Kenya's rural womenfolk. The US Agency for International Development sponsored the Kenya Renewable Energy Development Project to test different stove designs, resulting in the final design called the Kenya ceramic jiko. The innovative stove is lined with ceramic clay to trap more heat, consequently reducing fuel consumption by one-third. The new stove also lights and cooks faster, and can be paid back within two months.
