From the supplier: Financial Accounting Statement Number 106 (FAS 106) reqires employers to accrue future retiree medical and life insurance costs during the careers of eligible employees. As such, FAS 106 has significant repercussions on companies' health care costs since they will now have to account for estimated future health care cash outlays as current liablities and current losses.
