From the supplier: The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) should be of great help in preventing discrimination against AIDS patients. In view of homophobia and of the stigma associated with AIDS, ADA provisions that a person believed by others to be disabled is covered by the act should offer considerable protection. Other useful features include requirements that health insurance plans not be based on criteria which are really subterfuges to evade the ADA and the requirement that stereotypes about a disability not fuel the determination of the direct threat analysis.
