From the supplier: Speakers at the 1994 International Insurance Seminar pointed to two contrasting methods insurers can use to boost their international marketing presence: expanding into a multiline company or establishing a particular marketing niche. IAP International Chmn Pierre Labadie said that niche operators are taking market share away from multiline insurers in Europe, however. By using independent distribution channels to reduce costs, multiline insurers have cut advantageous links with the insurance agency system, he said.
