From the supplier: Students at Nordonia High School, Macedonia, OH, helped design and build a technology lab for the school. The first step was to teach drafting students how to draw blueprints. Three-dimensional models of the lab were developed, including workstations, furniture and modules. Construction students dismantled a house and salvaged the materials for use in building the lab. Letters were sent to 300 suppliers, businesses and corporations seeking support in the form of donations of wood, paint, drywall and other supplies. Industries interested in students who were trained for working in the 21st century contributed $35,000 in funds for equipment to furnish the lab. Media exposure throughout the construction of the project provided additional funding. The teacher-developed Exploration in Technology curriculum now employed in the lab fully exploits its capabilities.
