From the supplier: Image database software packages provide impressive search and retrieval functions, image compression, screen capture, and support for network environments in some products. Apple's PhotoFlash for the Macintosh is comprised of a browser for viewing and selecting images, photo preparation tools to enhance images, and scripting functions that put images in page layout and presentation documents. Xing Technology Corp's Windows-based Picture Prowler version 2.0 image management and slide show program uses JPEG compression to shrink images by up to 25:1. Halcyon's DoDOT 4.0 includes several modules, one of which creates miniature images and saves them in a database that can be searched by keyword or filename. Also described are Electronic Imagery Inc's ImageManager 3.5, Inset Systems' HiJaak for Windows, Inner Media Inc's Collage Complete, U-Lead Systems' ImagePals 2, and LEAD Technologies' LEADVIEW 3.0 for Windows.
