From the supplier: Japanese preschool education is distinguished from other nations by its explicitly straightforward socializing function. Japanese educators believe that the culture of the home and the culture of the school are vastly different and as such, there is a need to integrate one with the other. For example, Japanese culture values smooth assimilation into groups but Japanese mothers typically do little to foster this into their children's minds. As a result, the school acts as the social institution which bridges the gap between the home and society.
