From the supplier: Food distributors can take a cue from Gordon Food Service Inc.'s usage of liquefied natural gas for its truck fleet. The company delivers some 10,000 assorted wholesale food items to five different states in the Great Lakes region. Gordon maintains a fleet of 300 trucks and terminals and initiated a pilot test by converting one of its truck fuel systems from diesel fuel to liquid natural gas. The pilot truck test will run from four to six months and fuel cost savings, emission rates and other pertinent data will be closely noted by the company's research group.
