From the supplier: Willis Corroon Corp Risk Control Services Dir David S. Brickell believes that the health risk from electromagnetic fields (EMF) creates liabilities for the property-casualty insurance industry that potentially could dwarf those of asbestos. Speaking at the Risk and Insurance Management Society Conference, Brickell said that EMF poses a nightmare for risk managers since all EMF cases so far litigated have bee settled in favor of the plaintiffs. Electric utilities have been sued over 400 times, and there is a great exposure to potential EMF personal injury and property claims due to increased publicity over the EMF threat.
