From the supplier: Chubb has set up an office at its Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore dedicated to the insurance market in India. India's insurance system is closed, but the country has taken steps toward privatization, and Chubb is preparing to enter the huge market, especially the high-tech cities such as Bangalore. A committee on insurance reform has been working on privatization since 1993, and an independent regulatory authority was formed March 15, 1995. The Indian market has been growing 25% per year, compared to the US rate of 6%.
