From the supplier: One mistake at the beginning of a series of depositions can skew the subsequent ones enough to change the outcome of a case. Inaccurate diagrams are one frequent culprit, as subsequent witnesses relate what they remember to what is before their eyes. Two cases are related, one in which a state trooper's diagram grossly misrepresented the distances involved in an auto accident, and a slip-and-fall case in which onsite inspection revealed aspects of liability that photos and a sketch distorted or concealed. Visiting the scene of an accident is essential to avoid such errors.
