From the supplier: Defense objections in a difficult case can sometimes be the plaintiff's salvation when an objection backfires. In a case involving a blind boy, the defending hospital and the relevant equipment maker objected to questioning involving medical literature published after the incident that allegedly caused the blinding. Plaintiff's counsel, realizing that most of the literature favoring the defense was recent, joined the objection, leaving the defense unable to counter most of his points.
