From the supplier: University of Alaska-Anchorage students now can take a new computer graphics course, which was created in response to the growing need to present information graphically. The introductory course is targeted at adults who need to acquire computer graphics skills, but students may use it as an elective. Several students at the university come from the media industry, and are looking to acquire this type of expertise. The university plans to target faculty as well. The labs use 386 Windows PS/2 machines running on a Novell network. The course is centered around Corel's CorelDRAW 4 graphics and publishing software, a suite of six applications and several utilities. Students learn how to create presentations, and are able to see examples on a color overhead projection system. Besides being able to accommodate complex design problems, CorelDRAW is easy to use and versatile. It offers several advanced features and precise control.
