From the supplier: The increase in additional taxes and penalties levied by the IRS between 1951 and the 1990s reveals that a tax revolt has occurred in the US. Although unnoticed, this is a major factor behind the country's inability to reduce its budget deficit since a one percentage increase in compliance would add another $7-10 billion to the national coffers. To study whether attitudes towards tax compliance have changed over the same period, graduate students and senior citizens were surveyed. The results corroborated the IRS' reports of tax compliance.
