From the supplier: Incorporation of chemicals such as plasticizers into zinc sulfonated thermoplastic ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer (EPDM) results in products with different properties. Plasticizers such as dimethyl sulfoxide and paraffinic oil can be incorporated into zinc sulfonated EPDM that contains 75% ethylene, creating a product with a lower melt viscosity. High abrasion furnace type carbon black, when added to zince sulfonated EPDM, creates a compound with improved properties such as hardness, tear strength and abrasion resistance.
