From the supplier: Empirical research on prospective franchisees indicates that their employment history is indicative of the probability of purchasing a franchise. Respondents who were previously self-employed are more likely to be attracted to the business support of franchisors. There is a negative correlation between leaving a business to one's heirs and the intention to purchase. The decision to purchase a franchise is set firmly on the desire for self-employment.
