From the supplier: Insurance industry publisher A.M. Best will publish a report on the property-casualty insurance industry that says environmental and asbestos liabilities will not ruin the industry. The report, to be released in Jan 1996, estimates those liabilities at $57 billion, down from the $260 billion that was reported in March 1994. The new estimates indicate that the liabilities will be manageable for most companies.
