From the supplier: Alliance, Nebraska, receives help from the agricultural extension service and Telecommunications Cablevision Inc (TCI) of Nebraska, and sets up three local cable channels. The project began in 1991 when TCI started replacing the community's cable TV system of coaxial cable with fiber-optic trunk lines. Under a renewal agreement the local cable manager realigned and increased the number of cable channels by three, resulting in added Government and School channels, in addition to the Public Access channel. The added channels have enriched and supplemented Alliance's community, keeping it abreast of the events, meetings and achievements of the city's schools via the School channel, maintaining ties and flow of information of the local government through the Government channel and providing additional community information via the Public Access channel.
