From the supplier: Various US educational programs demonstrate minority students are best served by high academic standards driving them to excel. Teachers such as LA's Rafe Esquith and Harlem's Kay Toliver demand excellence of their minority students and get results. Esquith's students have scored high on both math and English tests, despite speaking English as a second language. Similarly, Chicago's Holy Angels School sets high standards for its students. Minimum competency tests, despite legal challenges, can push students to graduate with basic reading and math skills.
