From the supplier: Tennessee Williams's plays are so much better known than his paintings that little attention tends to be paid to the former. Painting was an escape for Williams and an expression of raw feeling he did not feel free to put in his plays. His painting style is sensual and primitive and offers a glimpse of his preoccupations. Williams gave most of his paintings to friends and most remain in private collections.
