From the supplier: Sonic Systems' QuickStream/3 remote access server enables students at California State University-Northridge (CSUN) to accomplish more off-campus work by providing access to the university's network resources via standard phone lines. The server does not require support from the schools' network services department; a graduate faculty member has assumed the role of administrator. With QuickStream, students can access the Macintosh-based server, copy assignments into the instructor's drop box and pick up new assignments. Users can use any machine based on various platforms to connect to QuickStream, which supports PPP. Unauthorized access is inhibited by the Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP) and Password Authentication Protocol (PAP). QuickStream/3 is also compatible with all modems.
