From the supplier: The 1924 Fan Noli revolution in Albania was doomed from the beginning. Noli was idealistic and liberal and someone who understood little of interwar Albanian politics. Chaos resulted from his movement's lack of cohesion and Noli's inexperience. Noli was unable to win the international community's confidence and a much-desired membership in the League of Nations for his country. His courting of the Soviet Union did not help international opinion of him. After this inter-war experience with reform, leadership went to the authoritarian Zogu.
