From the supplier: A decision support system for purchasing employee health care insurance plans was developed to assist employers in making cost-effective health care choices. The system constructed a model to determine break-even points, copayment structures and tax deductibles. Using the system, it was discovered that if anticipated medical expenses are likely to be less than the break-even points, then employers should not purchase a specific policy since the premiums and copayment will exceed the actual medical expenses.
