From the supplier: The crash of Trans World Airlines Inc. (TWA) Flight 800 in Jul 1996 could result in liability claims up to $600 million, which would be covered by the $1 billion of liability coverage and $100 million in hull coverage carried by TWA. The United States Aircraft Insurance Group in New York, NY, carried 25% of the total, while London companies, including Westminster Aviation Insurance Group, La Reunion Aerienne, and Lloyd's of London, carried 23.4% of the risk. Airline-provided personal accident policies, not the liability policy, probably covered the 35 TWA employees among the 228 killed.
