From the supplier: The validity of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) as the primary measure of economic output is being questioned. GDP fails to measure the Human Development Index which gauges "progress" per person", something the Genuine Progress Indicator (GPI) takes into account. The GDP considers the three essential economic elements of consumption, investment and government spending. GPI goes further by breaking these elements into "goods" or "bads" depending on the value of the social implications.
