From the supplier: Eleven legislative leaders were queried on their political plans in light of the Nov. 1996 elections. Arizona House Majority Leader Ernie Baird, New Hampshire House Speaker Harold Burns, Arizona Senate Pres. John Green and Tennessee House Majority Leader Bill Purcell will not run for reelection. Ohio House Majority Whip Jane Campbell will run for a seat on the Cuyahoga County Commission, Puerto Rico House Speaker Zaida Hernandez Torres will run for mayor of San Juan while Oregon House Speaker Bev Clarno will run for state treasurer. Kansas Senate Majority Leader Jerry Moran, Wisconsin House Speaker David Prosser, and Kansas House Majority Leader Vince Snowbarger will run for Congress, while Oregon Senate Pres. Gordon Smith will run for the US Senate.
