From the supplier: Zaki al-Arsuzi is among the greatest contributors to the development of the philosophy of the Arab Ba'th Party. However, scholars have not given much attention to his works. By contrast, the works of Michele Aflaq, who is commonly considered as the founder of the Ba'th Party, has been studied more extensively. Al-Arsuzi was born in the formerly Syrian province of Alexandretta, Turkey, He studied philosophy in Paris during the 1920s. His thought, which is heavily influenced by the philosophy of Henri Bergson, is based on the idea of the revival of the national genius or spirit.
