From the supplier: Tied foreign aid has been recognized in many trade relationships as a method of export generation for a donor country. Pooled data on Canadian exports and Canadian foreign aid to 58 developing countries from 1982-90 were evaluated to determine the economic possibility of untied foreign assistance, wherein no export obligations are set for the aid recipient. Untied aid showed a lingering effect on exports.
