Originated by foundation leader Lee Hills, the endowments have between $1 million and $1.5 million each. The prestigious senior professorships are occupied by many notable journalists including Hodding Carter, Bill Raspberry, and Phil Meyer. These chairs were created to offer a firm and lasting foundation for journalism institutions.
