MRP II system is being replaced by alternative material planning software due to its limited sizing and scheduling functions which result in inefficient plans. MRP II can be utilized to support an integrated planning system to accommodate scheduling and sequencing algorithms. Materials planning and control functions can be incorporated to eliminate the need for third party software.
