From the supplier: Alternative work schedules (AWS) have emerged as employers of the 1990s are increasingly adapting an ever-diverse workforce, particularly employees who seek flexibility on the job. Many types of AWS have been developed, including flexitour, gliding schedule, variable-day schedule, compensatory time and the three-day work week. A survey on employees' perception of whether they and/or their employers benefit from AWS revealed that 74% see AWS as a benefit to either themselves, their employer or both. It is thus recommended that these be promoted and implemented in the private and public sectors.
