From the supplier: An empirical examination of the effect of he Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Improvement Act of 1991 (FDICIA) on the failure rate of savings and loan entities shows a beneficial relationship. In other words, the FDICIA was instrumental in the decrease in the failure rate. This failure trend was also observed to have a direct link with federal deposit insurance coverage ceilings and an inverse relationship with the capital-to-asset ratio.
