From the supplier: The United States' support for Zionism in Palestine in the 1920s was incongruous with its strong antipathy towards socialism/communism. Although the Zionist movement was modeled after Russian Socialism, US politicians and the press believed that it was compatible with American ideals and values. It is possible that Zionist socialism escaped US condemnation because of the heavy emphasis placed on the capitalist aspects of the Palestinian economy, the insufficient information about Zionism received by the press and the US government, and the discrepancy between Americans' perceptions of socialism and the Jew.
