An argument advanced by Steven Pinker, a psychology professor at MIT, suggests that since humans have conformed to evolutionary pressures that demand an newborn weakling be allowed to die, we can emotionally accept the need for abortion. Pinker avoids taking this argument to its logical support for abortion, but this is a path people of moral common sense will not take.
