From the supplier: Virtual reality (VR) is increasingly used in the real estate industry. In one instance, a Santa Monica, CA, developer successfully convinced the city council to approve the construction of a community center in an upscale Los Angeles township by using this technology. The VR walk through worked better than an architectural model in enabling the members of the planning commission to see what the project would look like upon completion. For people looking for apartments, virtual tours of apartments are already available on the World Wide Web. San Francisco firm Rent Net has a database of apartments and corporate housing for rent that can be seen on the Internet. Internet users can even have a 360-degree view of an apartment just by clicking on the icon 'Total View 360.' Even hotels are interested in virtual reality. Destination Hotels & Resorts in Colorado plans to instal VR kiosk to enable guests to select their desired destinations.
