A task force created a new management structure where a single security director was responsible for most security decisions. Full-time, experienced security professionals were also provided to the affiliates of the bank. Moreover, the task force created a security manual, launched a security awareness program, opened a business abuse hotline, and created a database. In addition, the control center of the bank was expanded to allow greater monitoring. The result was a reduction of fraud by about 20% and savings of $1 million annually.
